The Adventures of Rainbow Dash Chapter 8

Chapter 8: How Rainbow Dash and Horton Trick Chris and Chef

(Horton was taking a bath in the river, until he begins to smell something good)

Horton: (sniffing) Oh. Peanut brittle.

(Horton begins to follow the smell, until Rainbow Dash sticks her foot out causing him to trip)

Rainbow Dash: Sorry about that, big guy. But this is dangerous.

Horton: But I smell peanut brittle.

Rainbow Dash: Yeah, I know. It’s a trap.

Horton: A trap?

Rainbow Dash: Yeah, but don’t worry. I’ve got it all under control.

(Horton comes with Rainbow Dash, and it shows that Chris and Chef have the peanut brittle as bait attached to a string on a bell, and Chris and Chef are holding a rope attached to a box on a tree branch above the peanut brittle, and Rainbow Dash and Horton hide in a bush)

Rainbow Dash: I set up a little surprise for those two.

(Chris and Chef are waiting)

Chris McLean: Come on, Horton. We don’t have all day. Say, Chef how do you think you’ll do it.

Chef Hatchet: Well, the guests arrive at 7:00, and elephant meat is pretty tough, so I might marinate him for an hour or two, and then use teriyaki sauce or mango salsa.

Chris McLean: That sounds good.

(The bell rings)

Chris & Chef: Yes!

(Chris and Chef let go of the rope, dropping the box on whatever is with the peanut brittle, and Chris and Chef come near the box and Chef has a mallet)

Chris McLean: Don’t worry, Horton. This won’t hurt…me.

(Chef sees Rainbow Dash and Horton and looks nervous)

Chef Hatchet: Uh, Chris.

Chris McLean: What?

(Chris sees Rainbow Dash and Horton waving to them, then he nervously knocks on the box)

Rainbow Dash & Horton: (chuckling)

(Out of the box comes out Lion, who is very angry)

Lion: (roars)

(Lion takes the mallet and Chris and Chef just stare)

Chris & Chef: (screaming like girls)

(Lion then chases Chris and Chef while Rainbow Dash and Horton watch, Chris and Chef hide in a log, and Lion just mallets it making Chris and Chef flat, and then Chris and Chef continue running from Lion)

Chris & Chef: (screaming)

Rainbow Dash: (laughs)

(Rainbow Dash and Horton go to the peanut brittle)

Horton: I’ll split it with you.

(Chris and Chef are still running from Lion and Lion mallets the peanut brittle splitting it in half, and he continues to go after Chef and Chris, while Rainbow Dash and Horton each eat half of the peanut brittle, later at night, Rainbow Dash was at her house getting in her bed)

Miles: (narrating) Yeah, Rainbow Dash went to bed that night feeling real good about herself. She had friends. Real friends, and for the first time, even more friends than anyone could count. Just about every toon around liked her.

(Chris and Chef enter the door with an axe looking very angry and Rainbow Dash looks really nervous)

Miles: (narrating) Well, I said “just about.”
